need help on first board

hey i am a second season snowboarder who loves the extreeeeeme. i have been reading the forums looking for possible boards to purchase. last winter, i finally picked up snowboarding and started carving down hills in the southern california resorts. this season, i want to actually try going on some jumps and parks while still having the possibility of bombing down the slopes smoothly. my budget is on the small side, holding steadily at around $250 for a decent freestyle board that will allow me to use for a few years. i was looking at the k2 union midwide. are there any other good boards at my price level?
