Default Burton Custom 154 or 156??

Hi, I'm planning on getting Burton Custom as my first snowboard, but I'm having a hard time deciding between two length, 154 and 156. I'm about 5'9'' and weigh lil over 150lbs. I could carve down most hills but don't know how to hit jumps and rails, although I want to learn how eventually. I was originally going to get 156 because I fit better into Burton's recommended weight range, but my friends told me that 154 might be better for me especially if I start doing jumps. Burton's recommended weight ranges are (115-165) for 154 and (120-170) for 156. The board come upto about between my lips with no shoes on. Please help me with deciding on the right length for me. Thank you in advance.
