Just broke my board, what should i get - Snowboarding Forum

Ive been riding a 157 nitro shogun for the past season and a half. well, I lost my edge yesterday and hit a tree. Now I'm looking for a similar board, one thats fast, light, and holds a edge like a champ. If anyone is familiar with the shogun or a board like it, let me know.

To be honest man, I have never seen an edge break off or even ever heard of it & i'v been boarding for sometime & I also board in the midwest where half the time it's all ice lol which is alot harder on the boards =/ what brand board do you have so I know to stay away from them? lol

i think he means his board slid out from under him and he wiped out, crashing into a tree which broke his board. not that his edge just broke off.

With that said, look into brands that have Magnatraction or Bananatraction. Lib Tech, GNU, and Rossignol.

Smokin makes some really nice magenatraction boards too. I love mine.

My husband rides a Never Summer Legacy-R, which he finds to be very fast, with excellent edge control. The Shogun is a lot stiffer than the Legacy, though, so if you wanted to try NS, the Heritage-R, Premier F1-R, or the Titan may be a better match.
