Do performance snowboards make it easier for everyone? - Snowboarding Forum

I'm going to snowboard on Jan. 4 & 5th with some friends and we are staying in Banff, Alberta. There are basic, mid-performance and high performance rentals.
I'm a beginner level snowboarder. I'm just curious if it would be easier learning on performance snowboards/equipment? Would I turn easier with high performance gear? Thanks!

I would say to rent gear within range of your skill level. Beginner boards tend to be softer and more flexible so you'd be in more control and progress faster.

You definitely need to rent beginner to intermediate boards. If the high performance boards were the best thing for beginners to rent, they would not make the distinction between categories.
