I've got a problem. Maybe it's my riding ability or something I'm doing wrong.

I seem to be having a problem with my board side slipping on hard-pack. When I drive into a turn, it wants to bounce side ways. I feel like I'm coming up on my edges like I'm supposed to, and digging in, but then it starts to hop

Is it my edges not being sharp enough, wrong bevel? Or something else I need to do.

If your edges aren't sharpened you just won't be able to hold an edge very long. Wrong bevel will just make it easier or a little bit harder to get on edge. It could be that you need to sharpen your edges to get that grab back, you might try bending your knees more as well to sink that edge in if you are carving.

How much do you weigh and what board are you riding? There could be a miss-match which is making it harder for you to get on edge.

You know, I thought about that. I weigh about 217-220. I ride an Arbor Element 161.

I'm about 10lbs over what they recommend on that board. I'm in the process of getting to 180-185

That makes a lot of sense. I was having the trouble on steep blue's, where I was having to make fast turns or else I'd have been bombing down the run out of control

The stiff legs was there, I was bouncing like a ping pong ball

My edge bevel is an 89 with a 1 degree base.
