Very intrigued by reading the stats of that board... decent length, narrow...

Read good things about Venture boards but cannot find any review on this particular board. Anyone here knows it? How does it ride, carve, float? Fast, stable, nimble, edgehold?

BTW: They're unicorns over here, will be impossible to demo one here.

Bump.

Also interested into the split version.

Venture makes pretty killer boards. The Zelix split was one of my favorite boards I demo'd at the splitfest two years ago. Their boards are middle of the road weight wise. They skin quite excellent. The flat base gives you a ton of skin traction. Solid, reliable rides on the down. The only down side I have ever noticed is if you get in really wet, gloppy conditions, the flat base really turns into a suction cup. Where with a more rocker profile, you can limit where you weight is distributed and get less drag. It's pretty minor in the scope of things. If you are experiencing those sort of conditions in the backcountry, you are likely just trying to get out of there anyway.

Have you ever tried the Jones Solution? If so, how do the Venture compare to it?

I'm actually pretty satisfied with the Solution; it got the Alpine Touring set-up mounted now and I intend to use it for the challenging tours in spring; I know the board well and trust it in terrain with ever changing conditions.

The train of thought is like 1) the Solution already got a lot of beating (the mellow snow base we got the last two seasons made for many bad scratches from shark fins...) so it wouldn't hurt to have a backup at hand if I manage to demolish it. And 2) I'm not keen to bring the AT stuff for the trip to the US (the terrain shouldn't request it and 2 pairs of boots would be a packing overkill for 4 days of splitting in Crystal, WA area... and instead of re-set-up n bring the Solution I could simply buy a split at Crystal n mount it with soft boots. Already thought of getting another Solution... but that Tempest keeps crossing my mind but I've no experience at all with that brand... you know...?

I haven't ridden the Solution, so I can't compare rides. Not to mention I have never ridden the Tempest, it's not really built for my body type...

I can say that the Venture board will be built way better than the Solution. It will last longer. It just will. Klem (the owner) makes bomber boards. That is one of his trademarks.

What you should do is book a flight to Colorado around April 7th or 8th and I'll pick you guys up at the Airport. We can then go down to Silverton early for the Splitfest and you can do an early demo of the Venture line. I am pretty sure Venture would be happy to let you guys take out some boards. You could then buy one if you like it. Lots of other brands will be down there offering demos during the fest. Never Summer, Voile, Weston, maybe K2. Along with Spark and hopefully Karakorum. You need a second trip to the US this year anyway...

Otherwise, in all honesty it is hard to go wrong with Venture. The only real question is if the shape and flex is going to be to your liking. They definitely stand behind their work.
