burton joystick impressions

i had the 57 joystick out for three days at loon and it rode exactly what i thought it would ride like- a stiffer hero. i rode the hero all last season and it was funner than hell except when trying haul ass through chopped up powder- then it was like getting worked in the ass with a jackhammer.

the mt got 19" the second day and another 4" yesterday- conditions that are right in my wheelhouse. i spent a lot of time in the glades and was totally psyched at how quick i could weave it through the tight areas- i felt really comfortable at speed in there.

i was also totally impressed with how easy this board spins. it's a 57 that spins as easy as a 53. the pop off of ledges and out of side hits was a lot better than the hero but still not as much as my cambered board. the mid wide waist as always makes sketchy landings a lot easier to stay on the board.

in the park i hit all the boxes, rails and a small jump. this is not the board i would have in there- my horrorscope fk is much better- but a better rider might have a blast with it in the park.

i will take this board out every pow day i can get. the full rocker is super loose while the stiffer flex still allows you blast over chop which is exactly what i wanted. for regular hard pack and icy conditions i might still take it out on occasion because it holds an edge ok and feels kind of stable but i would probably lean more towards my camber or fk board 90% of the time in non-pow conditions.

Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
