Default Insulated or Shell or 3 in 1

What do you guys/gals use for your jacket/pants?

For me I have a Shell jacket from Burton and my pants are insulated from Foursquare

I think its better to get a Shell jacket that way I can kinda control what to wear under, like wearing a fleece with a shirt or something... IMO

I checked the 3 in 1 and they seem to be a bit heavy and bulky/thick, not really comfortable.

For pants its still comfortable if its thick and I still put on some cotton/fleece pants

3 in 1 for me. I can switch out the liners with different ones, layer or wear just the liner/shell depending on conditions. IE: Last week, I ended up wearing soft shell from work, liner AND jacket in the -20 weather. Then last night, I wore a t-shirt with the liner/jacket.
