Ive been riding for 14 years, I used to go up to VT 12 to 15 times a year but in the last 3 years Ive only ridden 6 days. I started young so I was agressive, could confidently handle blacks and blues and fell alot...now that Im much older, I noticed how poor my form is and how much aggressiveness and confidence Ive lost. I rode 10yrs on a Ride Control 155 (trad camber), size 9 boot, 152lbs. I bought a Rome Brigade 155 last year and overall like the board but Its a little squirly. I am hesitant to go back to a traditional camber board as on my Ride, I used to catch edges often and wipe out. I still have issues with flatlining and stability. Can anyone recommend a good board for an intermediate rider looking to refine his technique on groomers? Something that can let me rip down greens, and ride blues confidently and easily without fear of edge catching? Or perhaps there is a specific hybrid camber that will work? I will NOT be doing any freestyle or jumps and have no plans to ride powder. Thanks all

Stay with camber...and even get an advanced/expert level board (because it will force you to up your technique), get your form back and you will confidently blast down groomers. Catching an edge is just a matter of technique and clearly understanding how the board works on the snow. Now that you are aware of your mortality..u will be keen on upping your technique...just get a couple of lessons. And btw...flatbasing is also a useful skill to develop and will also contribute to your confidence in straight lining groomers.

This year have kind of gone back to camber and now that my skills are more developed...been having fun blasting confidently down groomers at 50mph. Last Sat took out a 10 yr old expert level camber...noticeably more stable. This past week its been in the shop to get an extra set of inserts so that I can widen my stance. Anyway this board used to kick my ass...and now so glad she is still in the stable.
