My girlfriend is 5'8" and 140 lb. The issue is that she wears a size 9 or 9.5 boot. At least from what I can tell, most women's boards would be too narrow for her, and none of these manufacturers seem to make wide women's boards.
Can I get some advice from the women on this forum? Do women who need something wider just get a men's board? Or are there wide boards I'm not aware of?
imo she doesn't need a wide board. A board in the 25cm range of waist will do quite fine. Really don't see many women boot out, because they float better...meaning the don't dig their edges in like guys....to which i'd imagine is due to their lower center of gravity.
but if still needed wider board (25+) then look at men's regular boards
or one could do a mild (10mm) riser plate to avoid boot out on railing carves
You're referring to a women's US9 boot size, not men's, right? If she's a women's 9, most women's boards in the 150-155 range have a waist width somewhere in the 240-45mms, which I'd say is ideal for a women's 9.
Yeah, her actual foot measurement is going to be in the range of 250mm so a board in the 240-245 ww range is totally fine. Lots of options in women's boards for her.
Arbor. Griptech will give you any extra girth you might need, right where you need it, under foot.
