Magne-Traction Board Tuning Issue

I just had my 3year old LibTech (with MagneTraction) board stone ground, hot waxed, and sharpened. Before that, I have done my own ptex board repairs and waxing and never seen any weird behavior after tuning.

My first ride this season, I noticed a loud 'whizzing' sound, like zipping up a zipper, which I never heard even when the board was new. Also, I noticed insane grabbiness on my toe side turns which put me into the ground a few times until I got used to the grabbiness. It is borderline scary when it grabs. The only thing noteworthy about the riding conditions was I normally ride on pretty hard packed snow/ice, where this time it was lightly packed pack.

Is the sound I hear from the stone grind (grooves in the surface), and if waxed, wouldn't that prevent that? How do I detune this?
I assume the grabbiness is from the magnetraction, which I have heard others talk about, but never experienced on this board until now. Could the edge sharpening be more aggressive than from the factory?
Or, did the shop do something weird to my board?

Whizzing Sound is from the stone grind. You likely have more structure now than the deck had when new. Waxing will not make it go away. There is really no way to make it go away. Come spring conditions you will be happy you have that structure. You will have less "suction" and better glide.

You have experienced a bad combo; freshly tuned board and soft fresh snow

When you get back on your regular hard pack all will feel good.

I would say you got a solid tune. The board is back to new if not better than new. 3 yrs is a long time to ride without any serious attention.

Simply put, you need to adjust your riding to your well tuned board.
