anybody with NS Legacy R or Revolver R in the 195-205lb range?

I'm about 200lbs in my boxers (tag on another 5lbs with boots pants, jacket etc), size 12 boot looking to try the BTX or RC stuff. I usually mix it up when I ride so either a park or all mountain mid board would be good. I brought a Rider's Choice 159 but returned it. I'm current on a Ride Dose 162 w/Rome 390's.

Is there anybody in that range that offer some feedback with either a 159 or 161? Or should I go with a 163?

I ride a 159, however I only weight 160lbs on a good day, but I ride the 159 cus I am also 6'4.

Anyway. I love the Legacy R. I swear by the board, and it has definnitely risen my riding abilities, and gives me way more confidence every day I am at my mountains.

Don't know how else to say it, but I definitely give this board my 2 thumbs up. Love it!

I'm 200lbs+, size 13s, and rock a revolver 156. The whole mountain is my park. I've had a legacy 163 and it felt like a truck. It was slow edge to edge, felt cumbersome, hard to spin, and heavy. You shouldn't need a 26.5+ waist unless you ride a really narrow stance. If you want a longer board look at the 161 SL-R, or even the evo-r 161. NS boards are mid wide, and the wides are WIDE.

Now thats what I'm talking about! What is your stance? No toe drag? So NS are all mid wide? I never knew that!

Huhhh? Abahhhh? Where did this come from? The quote I threw up is from never summer. "no matter what your size/weight is you don't have to worry about breaking our boards"

Whats this max of 200? Theres 3 people in this thread alone over 2oolbs riding n.s.'s

If u wanna do park I'd suggest the 153 revolver.
yah I've lost some weight over the last few years, about 215 right now but there was a time when i was closer to 230 on my NS. I don't think they max out at 200 lbs.
Aren't these the weight specs?!? No? I'm more of a freestyle rider so a board that is more stable at high speeds yet has enough pop n flex for an occassional park run.

I;m only weighing in at about 180 now, but I've been riding a Revolver-R 156, great board. Also wanted to mention you might consider the SL-R too, a lot of people seem to like them. I also have a Heritage, and its great for going fast, but the Revolver is much more comfortable in the parks.

"just know that no matter what your size/weight is you don't have to worry about breaking our boards- they have durability and come with a three year warranty
Thanks"

This shit really needs to be on there website. They dont have wieght charts for a reason people.

Hell the rider specs on a 156 ARTIFACT! goes up to 210.

I got news for ya, according to "spec" nobody makes a mountain bike for a 210lb rider, either, but I've got a 13 year old GT Karakoram (hardtail, chromoly) that handles just fine even after all these years.

Product specs are at least as much about marketing boards to the most riders, as they are about actually fitting people. Seriously, 145lbs can swing a 163cm deck? Fucking doubtful as all hell, dood. I can't imagine a 145 pounder riding the 163 NS that I have. There simply isn't enough room on a frame that tiny to pack the required muscle to handle a board that size.

We're all telling you that you won't have any problems riding a 161 NS board. You want to throw product specs at us like we're n00bs or something. Are you looking for a pissing match, or are you looking for advice?

If you don't believe the handful of fatties weighing in over 200lbs who've been rockin NS decks for years, have fun riding that 174 Legacy...

Damn dude, no need to get a hard on! We are not talking about mtn bikes but if you want to kick suspenion, my Ducati 1098 has a .95kg/nm spring rate that is weight specific.

Someone posted up those specs on this forum but I'm not sure where they got it from; either from Sierra or from Evogear!? I just cut n pasted here. I've been on here since 07 so what makes you think I'm trying to start a pissing match.

I already have a 161 Ride Dose and wanted to go for a smaller board, perhaps a 156 if I can but since you can't return a board after you rode it, I want to make sure I spend my money right. It's already difficult to local shops to demo NS boards.

No I wouldnt say so at all. They dont have those on either website(.com or .co.uk) or in the catalog. So yea. Where did u get them?

my bad man, i don't know what i was thinking earlier. i read your last comment as "You guys don't know what you're talking about, here are the specs and who are they to argue!". In hindsight, I probably took your comments way out of context. I was out of line, I apologize.

i see that sizing chart at Evo... the weight range for the 156 is only 25-30 pounds lighter than the 174 - talking almost 9 inches of difference in board length, and they're telling us that the acceptable weight range is that tight? I don't think so. I guess my complaint was more with the specs, than with anyone here personally. Sorry again for being a dick.

as for the bikes, i was just making comparison that most companies in the action sports industries simply don't make very many products for the "larger gentleman" such as ourselves. I mean, most affordable MTB are rated for someone who weighs like 165 pounds. Doesn't surprise me that the snowboards are much different, I guess they think that everyone over 2 bill is a couch-potato...

No worries n apology accepted! We're all here for the cause and shit happens.

I'm more concerned that if I go with a 156 Legacy b/c I'm pushing 200 lbs that it might be like trying to ride a unicycle at 50 mph.

Or should I go with a 159, stfu n call it a day.

FWIW, i never felt stable at higher speeds on my Burton X8 (157cm); your "unicycle at 50mph" analogy is appropriate!

I liked the board generally speaking, but damn it was just too short. In a perfect world you'd demo or borrow someone's 56 and see how it works. If you're used to riding 59 though, you might just wanna stick with that size. It's not too long (that's what she said!) to play in the park.

Just pulled the trigger on a 2010 legacy-r 161. I'm 195Ibs, 6'1" and currently wear size 13 Burtons - hope I picked the right all mountain board! (I'm an intermediate, but have only ever owned one snowboard that I've been riding for the past 6 years, so I have no experience with the current offerings).

Just now hearing that the 2011 NS SL and Legacy have more flex/pop, something that I think I would have appreciated - I called NS and the person I spoke too told me that there are no major differences between the 2010/2011 Legacy. Oh well, gotta take the plunge sometime..
