Default true twin tip all mountain board

New poster here... hoping you guys can help me out.

I can't seem to find the type of board I'm looking for. I'm a typical all mountain type rider. The thing is, I enjoy riding switch/fakie as much as regular. All the true twin tip boards I find are made more for freestyle, rather than freeride, and don't seem to be made to perform well on our icy east coast blacks.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced true twin tip board that is designed more for all mountain use?

If it helps, I'm a 5' 11" 170 lbs male that has been riding for 10+ yrs and I consider myself an advanced rider.

I'd love to hear what your guys think.

Thanks a bunch

Default Donek

Hi Ski,

Reasonably priced is somewhat different for each person, I would suggest looking at Donek Snowboards (Donek custom snowboards online snowboard shop snowboard company order buy) in Colorado, the owners name is Sean Martin. I have two of his boards a 165 twin tip that I used for all-mountain riding last year and a pure BX style board called the razor. The best thing about Donek is that you can ask for specific cores of which he makes three plus one-off's which do cost more and other "custom" add ons that you can't find or get from other companies with out incurring major costs. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I did check those guys out, but it would be too expensive to get what I'm looking for.

I've decided that the board that best fits my needs is the Forum Seeker. It is a true twin shape and has a camber instead of rocker profile. It gets great reviews everywhere, with the only complaint that it is too stiff for some riders... which is exactly what I'm looking for. I found a 2009 John Jackson edition for just $165 (including shipping) at sierrasnowboard.com. Considering they usually go for $550, I'm totally pumped about the price.
