Board size - 6'6, 240, 14 - Snowboarding Forum

First purchase.. I've always rented. I'd say I'm a lower-intermediate level boarder and I'm wondering what size I should go with as a board I can grow into but won't be too harsh on me to start out. A happy medium of sorts.

Like I said, I'm 6'6, 240 w/ a size 14. Primarily ride all-mountain, and some BC. Being in AZ, powder days that I could make are twice a month if I'm lucky, so mostly groomed trails.

All the sizing sites I've been to suggest a 168, but some guys on here have recommended I go shorter.

What do you think?

I have a friend that is about your size that rides a Smokin K22 172. He loves that thing.

Check out the NS Legacy in a 166 or the K2 Slayblade in a 166. I don't think you can go wrong with either one of those.

168 at the very least, probably longer.

Im 230 and I ride the Legacy in a 163 no problem, should be fine in a 166
