If I'm 5'11, is a 164cm board too big?
Im looking at a 164cm Burton Wide board that has a 26.2 cm waist. I am a size 14 boot, so I need a wide but I dont know exactly how wide it needs to be. Is 164/26.2 too big? Its either this one or a 160/26 sized model.

I don't think so. The question is how much do you weigh and what type of terrain will you be riding in?
|
Im about 205-210 and I am probably just going down mountains/powder. I am not going to go to any parks or halfpipes or anything like that.
Also, which one would be better for me? the 164/26.2 or the 160/26? I am leaning towards the smaller one, but is it too narrow? |
bump, i might buy tonight if i can get these questions answered

What size boots?
|
i am size 14
|
i would go a little smaller than 164 because of ur height probably around a 159

If you're not into jumping(not just limited to parks), and just want speed I think the 164 would be ok. I think weight is just as important as height, and I'm only 175lbs and my freeride board is a 158. What have you been riding? Its always nice to demo first when possible. The nice thing about buying a big name brand (if you must buy Burton), is that there has to be someone near you that rents or demos them. As far as your width, I don't think you'll notice 2mm much, but bring your boots with you and have a look.

IMO 164 is too big for you unless you're a bomber or ride only waist deep pow

If it's any help to you.
I'm 163 lbs, 5'8. I ride a 160 and it handles perfect. I like to bomb, and bomb it does! ice coast. |
