Post Need help with board...

I was told I might get a better response posting in this section:

"hello. im a shorter bigger girl. im about 5 3 and 195 right now. i bought a new 5150 mens 159cm vice 08 board, with k2 indy bindings, and burton womens casa boots.

overall its been an ok ride so far. seems a little big for my height. im working on snowboarding as much as i can so i can help lose some of this weight ive gained recently. it really seems i need a shorter board, turning seems to be whats hurting me most right now and where my falls happen at....

any recommendations?"

I researched my board size since when i was in the HS ski club i always used rentals.. they did the math for me... i found 157-161 was my ideal... so i bought the 159. someone suggested since mens are made more rigid maybe i can go with a 153 or something...? at this point i cant flex my board pretty much at all. i tried to even pop my board off a mogul and only made it a couple inchs off the ground.

so comments to help me get back into the sport comfortably please... very much appreciated...

In theory 159 is a good All mountain size for your weight..

That said you are short, so you probably have a pretty narrow stance on such a long board...

You should try renting a 153 for a day and see how you like it, its definately short, but you have to ride whats comfortable...and you could probably get a better stance on a board that size...

Pretty much any board can flex..if you stand it up and lean on it a bit you should see the flex...
Just guessing your problem is most likely your narrow guessing your using the inner most holes?

i went and bought a lamar blazer 154... it worked a lot better.. actually im using the middle holes... im gonna tweak with the bindings tomorrow since i only work a half a day and theres a little hill next to the park i live by that i can test it out on yay... the 154 feels almost perfect... i just need to work on my stance right now and i think itll be good... gonna give it a good waxing tonight... i think imma sell the 5150 159 board dont see much use for it... i majorly feel the difference now...
