Used Board - New to snowboarding

Hey I went snowboard twice i the past month, and I am totally addicted. Because of this I am looking to get myself a board so I don't waste money on rentals and can get used to one board after a while. That being said, I assume like most people, I don't want to spend a lot of money.

I am looking to buy used. I found this locally...

A Salomon Mandate about 4-5 years old, with liquid bindings and airwalk shoes for like $175 together, and he/she can piece it out. The pictures make it seem like he kept in in good condition and didn't really use it much.

Anyway, my question is if this is a good deal, and if the stuff I am buying here is any good quality at all. I am 5'9" and 155-160 lbs..its a 155 with 9sized boots.

I guess I should add that I am thinking of just taking the board and bindings and buying some boots online..as I hear thats the most important. I agree cause after the two trips my toes felt like total crap.

Honestly the board and bindings arent worth more than 75 dollars...if that...

If he will piece it out see if he will do just the board, and find some better bindings.

The board was only 300 MSRP new..which means it went on sale for 150-200 back in 2005..which means its worth 50 bucks.

sooo saying that, is it worth 50 bucks to buy ?

I think that's way too much for a 4-5 yr old setup. Check the classifieds here and sierra to see if you can get something newer. I was watching a 154 09 Burton ConDom with mission bindings sell for $115 last week on ebay, so you definitely can find better deals.

edit- i think getting a deal like that is rare but all i'm saying is decent price used gear is out there...
