So I just bought a 152cm board. Im a beginner (got the falling leaf down haha), 5'6 at 160 lbs. The board I got is in my weight range and the tip of the board touches right at my nose.
Im used to 147cm-149cm rental boards and when I took my new board on the mountain I totally noticed the difference- it was a lot more stable, but a little harder to control. I want to learn how to carve and people are telling me I should get a shorter board since it'll be easier. Do you guys think I should get a shorter board? Or maybe i just need some encouragement... Thanks a lot! |

I think u'll be fine since ur just starting out. The reason people are telling u to get a shorter board is because it takes less effort to initiate the turn. However, for your weight, the board u have now will be fine

At your weight 152 already is on the shorter side...not by much but it is...you should do just fine with that board.
