K2 Podium rumor, feedback, sizing - Snowboarding Forum

Trying to decide on a board size.... 158, 163 or larger? I'm a large guy - 6', 290lbs, but athletic. Beginner/novice rider. No aspirations, but learning to truly ride.

Also, trying to decide between a K2 podium, or last years Ride Fleetwood (almost 1/2 the price).
Clearly a different level of ride... but is it the Podium worth the extra for a novice?

Last, anyone hear yet if K2 is discontinuing the Podium after this season. One of the local shops told me that.

Other board suggestions.

I was thinking about buying the podium as well. I don't think its a good all mountain for noob though. I'm a noob so take it with a grain of salt.

MY GF is on a Podium and this is her first year riding. She and I are doing quite well.

no Podium for 2011 - gets replaced by the budget Raygun
