East Coast... CT and MA mostly. Moving to Boston soon so Wachusett looks to be my new home mountain.

At 170 I'd say 155 min for either board at your size. Since you said more freeride and jumps I'd say 158.

I am pretty much the same size and I ride mostly in PA and west virginia and I got an evo in a 155 and freeriding has been great...But I prefer a smaller boarder and eventually I want to be hittin the park...the evo will sometimes initiate a turn without me even trying but it holds an edge even on ice...All preference IMO

Just to start, i'm 5'10 170lbs, got the 158 '09 SLR last year.

It really depends on your riding style for freeride, i think the 158 is perfect. stable, fast and floats in powder when you need it.

In hind sight, i probably would have gotten the evo-r 155, but thats just because i've moved more into freestyle from freeride. i really want a twin now.

anyways either size is fine. for me, i think the 155 is the best, you can do butters and small spins. makes the board a little more fun.
