Im 6'1'', 205lbs, and can ride anything. I love big park jumps but i also like every other aspect of park. I also enjoy freeriding and carving. Ive been riding a regular width board my whole life. currently im riding a forum destroyer 156. Im in need of a new board due to a crack in the tail. ive been noticing lately that ive been getting some toe drag on really laid out toe turns(just got the new 32 ultralights in size 11). I was planning on getting this years destroyer. I originally planned on getting a 158 to help with the toe drag but do u think i need a wide board? will a wide board suck in the park? any input on my situation will be appreciated.
The size for board is just about right and a wide board would probably do you better if you are experiencing toe/heel drag. There are some mid wide boards out there as well that you might be able to consider. I've let friends of mine ride my wide boards in the park and in most instance the were surprised that there wasn't a change on how they rode. in a lot of cases they actually enjoyed the stability of a wider board more over the narrower.
Especially because you said you like big park jumps, the stability of a wide board will make landing a lot better.
