First post whaaattt upppp!

What's up everyone, first post here, just needing some advice from the experts on picking a first board. I'm an advanced level surfer and skateboarder, looking to try my hand at some snow boarding. My brother has a Burton Dominate that he likes a lot. My style is more just looking to do some carves and sick jumps, eventually hit the half pipe, plus some ground tricks and rails but not as much. I'm gonna be hitting mostly Bear mountain, Mammoth, and Tahoe. So really I dont know anything about conditions or boards, someone help me out. So far I like the Burton boards, and ive been checking out the 08 models. Dont want to spend more than 400 but want something pretty good. Plus can you guys recomend bindings? Thanks in advance for any and all info! Peaaccee

Oh my bad, yea I've been to Bear once, but I was really young. As for boot size, I'm pretty sure I'm a 9 or 91/2 cause my brothers boots are a 9 and they fit good. I'm 5'8 160.

So far I'm pretty into the Burton elite, anyone know about that board?

Why do all new snowboarders have to have a Burton board>? (No pun intended because I did too)

But I would really look at different brands, with Burton you're realy paying extra for the name. I would look into Rome, GNU, Lib, and Never Summer.
