What board should I buy?

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 170lbs
Foot Size: 9 (yes, i have small feet)
Current Board: Ride 162 Control
Current Bindings: Ride Beta
Current Boots: Thirty-Two
Experience: 1 Season (last season went about 7x)
Riding Style: All-Mountain but rarely hit jumps or rails. Mostly steep runs and banking off side slopes. I love to carve it up.
Location: Tahoe, Sierra Summit, Mammoth Mountain.

I've surfed for 12+ years. I've wakeboarded for 3 years. I've skied for 8 years. So overall I felt extremely comfortable on the snowboard my first few times and by the end of the season I could take pretty much take on any run. Not to say I could fly down diamonds at full speed, but definitely comfortable carving it up on the steep runs.

After demoing a $$$ board at end of last season that was a Burton Custom, I noticed what an incredible difference a high performance board can make. I could turn that thing on a dime, and that in-turn gave me more confidence which resulted in a big increase in speed. I loved it, but have no idea if that board is good for me. It cost a ton of money.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY? My budget just for board is about $550. I'm keeping same boots/bindings.

Interesting Snowolf. We have the same foot size, almost same build it would seem. My current 162 i thought was maybe to long because I couldn't turn the thing as near sharply as I wanted to. Maybe it's just the torsional flex (or lack thereof) that is causing my problems then. It is barely a $300 board and just a beginner board really.

Thanks for the great review on the atomic. I will look into that.
