Hey all, I'm new here, and I've been skiing since I was 3. I took up snowboarding 4 years ago, and can rock (east-coast) double black diamonds on a rental board, but I'm starting to get sick of the 40$ per day price. I normally ride more downhill than park, but i do like hitting the park occasionally. Me: Male, 17, 6' tall, 11 shoes, 180 lbs.
I want to get my first board, but the default newb boards seem like a step back. There's a buy one get one free sale at my local freestyle, or 40% off a single item, so i can get the boots/bindings for the price of one, and a board for 40% off. I was thinking about the Burton Bullet or Operator wide, since my boots are 11's... Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice, 'cuz I've heard good and bad about both of these. |

I think you could probably do better than the bullet (even staying within Burton's line up). Especially if you're not a "newbie".
What sort of offerings does your store have other than that? And are you willing to buy online as well? Edit: Reread your stats. Haven't used a Bullet, but given what I've heard and the fact you're already hitting double blacks and whatnot I think you'd be annoyed at the flex on it. |

Do you think the operator wide's the right direction for me to go then?
EDIT: and lol, no... i do not falling-leaf the heelside down the hill. I got bored with that after an hour or two... four years ago. Last edited by veazer; 03-03-2010 at 08:44 PM. |
