question

Are wide boards really that bad? I bet I'll have to use one because I have size 11 feet and I'm only 13 and I want to know if it really makes that much of a difference

As long as your feet are wide enough to get leverage in the turns, no, wide boards are not bad.

You could use a midwide with 11s. And a little more board underneathe you for jumping/landing makes things a little easier. Freeriding it's a little slower edge to edge, but you should be able to handle it.
