Well, I called the shop and they already started dicking me around without even seeing the board. The traffic on the Don Valley was packed so I didnt bother wasting my time. I emailed Burton and let them know i was disappointed with this happening. The weather here is beautiful and I am stuck without a board to use because I dont want moisture getting in my board and having the core rot.
Hopefully Burton can do something for me here, I guess I will find out tomorrow. Joe |

I had this happen many years ago with a Burton second and it was covered under warranty with no questions asked. Then it happened again and again the shop replaced it with no questions asked. I don't know if Burton actually covered it but the shop gave me 2 new boards...second time around I didn't get the same model...they must have had a bad run or something...and again this was like 15 years ago so wouldn't affect your board at all...the point is make sure you buy from a good shop and they will cover you.

You prolly got a defective board that slipped past QA. This is a very very dangerous defect as you are lucky it happened at a lift rather than speeding down a slope. If anything happened to you while that binding ripped out, you could have easily gotten a lawyer and sued the crap out of Burton. Burton should not let boards that are known to have this defect circulate and in cases like these, there should be a recall. It could be that your board just slipped QA, which happens. Where are Burtons made these days anyways. Prolly China or something.
Even if so, there's no excuse for allowing a board like that into the market.

In all honesty, I've never liked Boardsports here in Toronto. Just a vibe I didn't really care much for, overpriced product, and for a retailer listed as carrying Never Summer, I've never seen one NS board there in the very few times I've been in. This just cements it.

I dont understand that as well. When i called to inquire about NS boards, they gave me attitude and said they dont carry them. They should be removed off the NS retialers list. |
