Default DaKine Tune Kit

I finally decided to make the effort of maintaining my own board with wax jobs and sharpening edges.

I'm considering picking up a Dakine Super Tune Kit since it includes an iron.

However, is there anything else I need to pick up that's not included in the kit such as a diamond stone and gummy stone?

Thanks for any help.

It will be nice to not be shelling out the money to have a store do it all

I am not sure that you do need anything further. It should come with a nice instruction booklet that will help you with the basics. Research as much as you can on the internet. Keep in mind that there are 100 ways to do the same thing with different tools and techniques. They can all be adapted in some way to work with the kit that you have.

To now answer your question, you will only need to purchase some wax that is worth putting on your board. I suggest the Swix All Temp or Hertel Ski Wax (really good price and great performance).

It's a good kit to get you going for sure! The iron it comes with is the same one as the Swix etc and it works well. The long DaKine scraper sucks so get a shorter one. The Volcom stone one is badass and my favorite one. That kit comes with a hard diamond type of stone. Having a gummy-stone is nice but not necessary unless u want it perrrfect!

It comes with more than you need starting out. Get it and add to it down the road if you find yourself needing something else eventually.
