I want a solid all-mountain board. I'm 5'10", 175 lbs, size 10.5 boot, intermediate rider.
I'm trying to decide between buying the 2010 Dark Series (158) or waiting and getting the 2011 TRS or Travis Rice pro model (157). The T Rice pro model is a bit stiffer than the TRS which i figured would be a little better for my riding style, which is definitely more groomed runs than park/jumping but i'm not sure if the blunt shape of the 157 will make a difference in my riding. Can anyone chime in on this? |

I think you would like either, if you ride a lot of powder though the Rice should float better due to the width. I havn't ridden the dark but my rice 157 absolutely charges, super stable on landings and has insane pop... I've heard the same about the dark though so if you can get a good deal on a '10 GO FOR IT! BTW, I'm 5'5" 170lbs...

I have the 09/10 T.Rice C2BTX and it is a great board. Can't comment on the blut tip having any ill affects on riding, I never found a situation where it held me back in any way. That said I am looking at the 10/11 version as well because I think I want a bit longer board...but on the other hand I may just save my money....I guess I will figure that out next season though.

The only thing I really do in the park is table tops and kickers... I'm mostly trees and natural features. And, no... theare's really no downside to the blunt tip as it slightly reduces swing weight and possibly increses the effective edge for a given size.

157 I love the board which makes me uncertain about next year. I could sell this one and buy the longer but what if I like the 157 better...then I have to find another 157. I think I am going to keep this board and if I ever get to the point where I want a longer board for powder days I will but it then.
