Just finished hot scraping my board to get rid of that spring-time crud that latches onto the base.
My base is half black. Meaning I can't see half the crud. So I'm basically blindly hot scraping until I believe all the dirt is gone. For all you guys that have seasons that extend well into spring/summer. I'd strongly advise you to get light colored bases (when they come as an option) so you can see all the contaminants that latch onto your base when riding in springtime dirty slushy stuff. Just a thought

Black bases don't look shitty when they get dirty. When I bought my board I had thechouce if a black or white base and I went black for that reason.
My powder board has a white base but that never goes anywhere near spring conditions. |

Don't ever ride Bear then you'd cry after one day the Bear Sludge is insane. I'm scared to even go near my Omatic right now.

I don't care about this stuff. I clean, wax, and ride. Hell, I haven't even filled up my scratches yet. I just don't care lol. Maybe if you get me a $1500 Method, I will start caring a bit. Even rusty edges, I'm too lazy to scrape them. I find a patch of ice and skid the hell out of it to remove my rust.
I just think some people worry way too much about this stuff. Unless there is some major damage, I can't be bothered other than to wax my board and get the occasional edge sharpening. |
