Default GNU 11up?

i'm looking for a solid all-round board for a guy with big feet (size 12). I'm considering the GNU 11up. It's listed as a freestyle board but was told it would be great from riding the whole mountain as well (directional twin). I spend some time in the park (kickers only) but mostly like just cruising around the mountain and doing a bit of everything.

Would this be a good board, or is it too freestyle for me?

I looked at this board also and came very close to buying it. I ended up with a Rome Flag instead and I would suggest looking at that as well as the Manual if you are trying to save some $ what size are looking for? I just saw an 11up mtx from last year on closeout I believe in a 158...

What made you go with the Flag? I've looked a the Rome boards as well.

I'm looking in the 162-167 range. I'm 6'4'' 200lbs.

I decided to go with the Rome because I didn't want to buy a MTX board without trying one first. I just kept getting mixed opinions on it and didn't want to drop $500 on something I wasn't sure I was going to like. That and the rome customer service rep answered all my questions, invited me to come ride with the guys who work their and even demo one of their boards from the factory if I hadn't already bought one when I got up to Stowe. I'll tell you the flag is by far the best wide board I've ever ridden. I'll probably pick up an 11up or dark series mtx in the off season as another deck but this way at least I know I have a board I car shred everyday...

The board is a 158 but you could probably get away with it... I have been told that you should buy mtx board a little shorter than normal so I ride a flag 168 but was looking at the 11up 162...

I'm actually not just looking at MTX...I'm considering the normal 11up as well. The local shop down the street has one my size (165ish) and I liked the feel of it.

I'm not sold on MTX either, although I've heard nothing but good things about it. I ride in the NW (i.e. Seattle area and Whistler BC) so don't deal with as much ice as others.

Thanks for the info!
