It COMPLETELY depends on your riding style....
Machete is a dope park/all mountain board (def more geared towards park) Banana Magic is going to be more stiff than the machete, very similar to a skate banana and can handle the whole mountain well Carbon Credit is geared more towards your beginning rider who doesn't do a lot of park. |

If you want the machete for all mountain use, go with larger size to compensate for the softness. 158 is a little shorter for you so soft boards will be a little softer in that size. The Machete is stiffer than most freestyle boards though so keep that in mind. By soft, I mean that it is soft for Ride's standards.
The Banana Magic is a very, very fun board. I wouldn't take it in the park, but I love just messing around on it while bombing blacks. The Magic is a stiffer board and is pretty damn light. Edge to edge was effortless on this board and the pop was satisfying. Taking down steep, icey runs was a blast as well. It held its edge and had virtually no chatter. A+ for the Magic. The GNU? I didn't demo that one. Someone else can chime in for it. BTW, a 158W will fit your gorilla feet. |
