New board for '11
 

Hey guys, this is my first post on any snowboarding forum ever, so I guess I'm a noob

I am however, not a noob to snowboarding ;)


Ok, so I currently (this is the only setup I've rode besides rentals) ride a 07 or 08 K2 Illusion Wide 163, with Burton Cartels, and size 14 Burton Moto Boots. I really enjoy snowboarding, and this has been a great year for me. I've gone from not being able to hit a single jump, to hitting 50 footers. I am happy with my setup right now, but I am looking to upgrade. I have kinda looked around a bit, but I don't really know where to look. I utilize the whole mountain, I take advantage of powder, and I'll do jumps and jibbs. So I guess I'm looking for a All-Mountain Freestyle board. I look step up to rails and do more on boxes next year, but I also am gonna do jumps. So I'm looking for something with a lot of pop, that's lightweight and is gonna last me a couple seasons or more. (I've been looking at the K2 Parkstar)

Also, based on the above, what kind of bindings would fulfill those wishes?

Some other info, I wear a size 14 boot (so I'd need a wide), am 6'3" and 165 lbs.

Never Summer Heritage XR and it's worth the price tag.

I've ridden the 2011 and it's phenomenal.

I'm either getting the Heritage XR or a YES! The dudes next season. I have a size 14 also and I have a feeling the YES sticks will be to narrow even with my wide stance and angles.

NeverSummer Heritage would probably be a safe bet. There's also the Legacy-R (wide version of the SL-R) that will be a bit of a softer all-mountain board.

Another choice would be a k2 darkstar. It's a park board, but from the reviews I read it's more designed to use the entire mountain as a park, rather than just the actual park itself. The Angry Snowboarder Blog Archive K2 Darkstar with Ever Bindings A Closer Look
Next year it'll have flatline (read 0 camber) tech. Right now it has camber.

I really didn't enjoy the 2010 Legacy... But the 2011 Heritage is phenomenal

My local mountain closed today, so unless I can head up to Mammoth for a weekend, my season's over, so I basically got all summer to choose.

Are Never Summer boards known for their reliability like K2 boards are?

Never Summer boards imo are the best built boards on the market, and one of the only boards with a 3 year warranty.

That's great. I looked into them, and the Legacy and the SL-R caught my eyes. They're on the uppermost spectrum of my price range, but with summer sales, the prices isn't an issue.

What is an issue however is the size, I didn't see a wide available, and with my size 14 boots, I obviously don't want my toes hanging off ;P
