Hey,
Bought an Indoor Survival FK a month ago. Sick board for sure!! Today I came across a 2010 Burton Hero for 159$ brand new (store going bankrupt. 70% off on all snowboards. WTF?! ). Question is - - > Do I buy?? I mean it IS somewhat already similar to my Capita. Would the Hero + EST dramatically change the snowboarding experience? The ''surfy feeling'' that rocker brings is what truly gets me going. (Never tried it though, only relying on the general hype) It would certainly cover the rail/jib side of my quiver. My only concern is I ride pure ice coast. Zero powder. I'm leaning towards the ''no'' side for now but a little peer pressure might make me think otherwise lol

It might not be a bad board to get as a backup, but I kinda agree with the idea of just using the 150$ for something later.
(I'm not a big fan of the idea of the EST, you'll have to buy bindings especially for that so it might make it not so great a deal in the long run). |

If you can afford it, get it. The Hero is a sick board. I ride in Michigan and trust me, we know ice. It handled well here. The Hero is one of those boards that you don't expect much from only to be very pleasantly surprised when you ride it.
Asking for advice on Burton boards other than the Custom and Custom X is hard because so many people here don't want anything to do with Burton. At that price though, the reasoning for most of them falls apart... "Burton is overpriced! Rawr!" Just keep in mind that you will need to get EST bindings or bindings with adapter plates. |

Couple crappy pictures from cell phone. Bought this board just to show people that the can mount bindings other then Burtons est on their burton board. S4020469.jpg S4020470.jpg The bindings on that board are a mashup pair of Flux Titans. Also I am sure that drake has a disc to convert their bindings to the Channel boards. |
