Smile Lookin for a great fun board (Rome Graft, Ride Kink?)

hi peeps, i need ur help! it's as off-season as u can get, so i'm lookin for a new board to buy.

i'm a relatively new at snowboardin. have tried it first time 3 years ago, then forgot about it. in the beginning of last season i tried it again and got totally hooked. spent a total of two weeks ridin in austria, sweden, and norway and gone from zero to riding on black tracks. i've tried a few different boards, but most of the time i've been ridin burton custom 162 wide. i'm 180 cm, foot size 45 and weighted 67 kg last season, but will weight 75 kg by the next season.

im a freerider by heart, but want to spice up my ride, learn some cool ground tricks and do some jumps in the parks. for that my burton custom seems a bit too long, too stiff, too heavy, and maybe too wide too so i'm lookin for a secondary board for those park days with an occasional freeride down the mountain.

i've read some reviews and stumbled upon Rome Graft and Ride Kink. both get positive reviews and r in the same price range. what is the difference between the two anyway? and the most important question is which length would be most suitable for me 153, 155, 158? i cant decide! and ride kink has a wide version, should i go for wide or normal board? i have solomon f22 boots that are known for being compact and i haven't noticed heel/toe drag when ridin on normal width boards.

any suggestions guys?

I would probably stick with a 162 or something in that range.

He's 150lbs. 162 is not park board size for him.

155, 152 would be about where you should look for a play board, depending on the specific board and what specifically you wanted to do.

I believe the graft is softer than the Kink. I'm 180lbs and normally ride a 164. I have a 155 Kink for screwing around when I bring noob friends and such.

check out some lib tech stuff, with the reverse camber, it makes the boards super fun to ride. My dad (43 year old guy, about 230 6'1 or so) rode a skunk ape 158 i think it was, and out of the about 5 or 6 different boards he rode that day, he said that was the best board hes ever ridden by far. I rode a skate banana 152 and im 140 pounds 5'6 and i went out and bought one the first chance i could get one on sale, it was that great of a board.

Lib Techs are the opposite of playfull. And love taking vacations to delam island.

I would choose the kink of those options, but for you I would also look at an NS Evo, Rome Artifact 1985, Nitro Swindle, CAPiTA Indoor FK, K2 Parkstar...

Whatever. Somewhere around a 154. Longer for more jumps, Shorter for more rails.

I don't think the Kink is much better with the delam. I don't even ride the Kink much and it's go some. Tree impacts opened it up and the flex of the board makes it progress quickly. Any flexible board is going to be vulnerable to that to a degree. Keep on top of them and it should be fine.

Oh sure, my point is that a fully wrapped board is less likely to delam than one thats not. Thats just from numbers. Most delams I hear of are lib'tech. Thats the most the I hear of, other people may have heard different but for me its just not worth the money for a Lib if they wont wrap their edges. So it saves a few grams in the tips, zippy...

I find that when it comes to lib you can almost always find an equal or better board for less.

thx for the input guys! a buddy of mine told me to look into bataleon boards and after reading about their tech i decided to go with bataleon funkink board 157 for which i got a good deal.

i've been also considering skate banana, but their reported fragility really concerns me.
