Default can you guys please help me decide on a board

hey im hopefully gonna buy a snowboard in the next week or two. i am a beginner to advanced beginner level rider. i am 5'2 i weigh 138 and have a shoe size of 7. (im 13 and a male) i was thinking a size 146 was a good size for me. correct me if im wrong. and i mostly do alot of park riding mostly just down the hills maybe a couple jumps and in the future maybe some grinds. im kind of confused on what board to buy i was looking at a rome agent. but im not sure if this is to advanced for me as i said im in the higher half of being a beginner almost intermediate...... i want a board that goes fast but not to fast and is controllable....i dont want a boring ride. thanks for any help

You are still growing - get a longer board!

Get something that will fit you, but go for something at the longer end of what you can ride. You are going to be growing a TON in the next two years, so if you want a board to last through your growth spurts, it HAS to be a bit longer. 146 sound like a good size for a park board, but you'll outgrow it within a year. I would get a board around 150cm. Or get a cheap board that you don't mind replacing in a year or two.

Thumbs up

true but my size is around a 142 so a 146 is a bit bigger i think itll last me some time and im trying to loose some weight so it should fit me good for some 2 or 3 years. but is the rome agent a good board. i found a 146 for 300 pretty good deal should i pull the triger on it and buy it. will i be dissapointed?

How is your size around a 142? I weigh 105 pounds and ride a 141 and a 143. 142 may work as a freakishly small jib board...

A 146 is about the right size for you, even on the shorter end of what you can ride. Go longer, you'll be happier. Here is a size chart:

weight ---- length

100-120 --- 140-145 CM

120-130 --- 140-150 CM

130-140 --- 145-150 CM

140-150 --- 145-155 CM

150-160 --- 150-155 CM

160-170 --- 150-160 CM

170-180 --- 155-160 CM

180-190 --- 155-165 CM

190-200 --- 160-170 CM

200-250 --- 165-180 CM

250 and up 180-190 CM

Yes, the Agent is an excellent board. It will last a long time. Can't say much more about it, since I know little about men's boards.

A 146 is good for you now. That size will probably not last a long time, but it might be fine.

Your decision. Talk to your parents about it.

dude, she's trying to tell you to get a longer one because in the long run it'll be a better fit for you. Yah, a 146 may be good now, but next year it'll probably be way too short. When I was 13 I went from 5'2 115lbs to 5'8 140lbs by the time I was 14. You're going to grow a lot in one year, let alone two. So maybe a 152ish might feel a little long now, but next year it'll be perfect and will last you a few years. If you don't have a problem with money, then I'd say go ahead and get the 146 for this year and buy a new board next year.
