Hi, I'm in the market for a new freeride board. I only know about Burton boards but would like to try other brands. I currently own a Burton Custom X and have demo-ed a Burton T6 before.
I need recommendations for a stiff board in any other brand except Burton. Thanks in advance. |

For what it sounds like you're looking for (stiff freeride board) I'd look at the NS Raptor and NS Premier.
If you want a cheaper option, try to find last season's Concept TMS or Yukon (same board, ones the wide version) from Ride. They're supposed to be pretty kickass freeride boards and pretty stiff. If I recall correctly, I think Rome's Design is also supposed to be a pretty stiff board. Again, last year's model. (I personally like my Atomic Radon, but that's going even farther back and I'm not sure if you want to go later than last season) |

Coming from a Custom X, I'd suggest the NS Premier/Raptor, Bataleon Undisputed/Enemy, Jones Flagship, Arbor A-Frame.

Lib Tech Travis Rice C2BTX. I have it, love it, and have given more detail in other threads. It's a firm board that handles much smaller than it is, yet floats like a bigger board. Just what I needed.

What size are you looking for?
Ride Concept TMS Snowboard 2010 This is the TMS's replacement for next year: Ride Highlife Snowboard 2011 K2 The Zero Snowboard 2010 K2 Zero Snowboard 2011 Quite possibly my next board: K2 Turbo Dream Mens Snowboard 2011 Lib Tech T. Rice Pro Model C2 BTX Snowboard 2011 My favorite board that I can't afford (that rhymed): Lib Tech Banana Magic BTX Snowboard 2011 Gnu Riders Choice BTX Snowboard 2010 @Lonestarrrider - That's a pretty bold statement that you made there bro. If you're talking about USA, Smokin Snowboards and Lib Tech both manufacture their own boards right here in the good ol USA. Elan over in Slovenia manufactures their own boards as well as several major U.S. brands like Capita. I hear nothing but great things about NeverSummer, but you shouldn't sell someone on that brand based on misinformation. |

Thank you all for the suggestions.
My friend has a T6, I switched with him for 1 day. I absolutely loved it, the speed, the carving, and the control was unbelievable. I would have bought the T6 but I don't want to get the new ICS bindings. My Burton Custom X is a 156. For my next board somewhere between a 156 & 159 should be good. I checked out all the boards, their reviews and prices. The Arbor A frame and the Rome Anthem caught my eye the most. Now off to find a good deal on them.
