So Im looking to buy a new board. Ive be snowboarding for around 4 years now, but up until this point have been using rental gear. This year I wanted to buy my own stuff since I have finally stopped growing. I was looking at the 2010 Rome Artifact. But after snooping around local stores discovered that the Gnu Park Pickle is where it's at. Unfortunately I dont have that much money. So are there any boards like the Park Pickle, but without spending that much money? Or should I go with the Rome Artifact?

Depends on you riding style. Lots of rails, some jumps, and funnage then go for the Art. Or if you are just starting to learn the park go for the Art. More all over the mountain and trees, look more for something like the Raygun, Quiver Killer, or a Turbo Dream.

If you only have the two options I think the Artifact will be more fun. But I would try to find a mid stiff park board. The Pickle is more of a 7 on the park scale. Try for a Crush, Indoor FK, Parkstar, or a Rook.

They aren't my only two options, but the Artifact I found is dirt cheap, local, new, and my size. And in my budget, because I also need boots and bindings D:

Dirt cheap then go for it. It is a softer board but is ridable on the mountain. I road a tiny Scaremaster everywhere for a couple months. Keep it in check and you'll have fun.
