Hey
So I need to help my two housemates pick some boards, but I know absolutely nothing about womens boards. They want to pay up to around $300, so I guess last seasons or something like that. They are both beginners, and have no idea what type of riding they will do so a nice all rounder would be good. I was looking at the Sierra V Spot because its cheap, any feedback or alternatives? Thanks everyone |

Last season's boards are pretty picked over, especially sizes within the "normal" range. Consider lightly used boards from ebay as well.
Some suggestions: Never Summer Pandora Capita Space Metal Fantasy Ride Rapture or Solace Atomic Fallen Angel K2 Lunatique Rome Vinyl Burton Lux |

$300 for just the board? Board and bindings? Or board, bindings, boots, socks, pants, jacket, etc.?
They can get a pretty nice board for $300. Board and bindings are possible if you can find last year's gear or get really lucky on this year's (I got my gf this year's Arbor Eden with last year's Rome Madisons for $310.) But if they need everything, their only option is used gear. If they go with used, I'd recommend spending the bulk of their money on new boots. That's the most important gear to get a perfect fit. And if they keep at it, they'll be able to use them for a few years with better gear. For a board, I'd check ebay and craigslist for some of lilfoot's suggestions. She probably knows more about women's gear than anyone else on here. You'll probably find better deals on boards and bindings together. Ebay should be fine for jackets and pants too. Most girls I know go through jackets faster than they have a chance to go out of style. |

Look into stuff from the last year or two like: Arbor Eden/Cadence/Push, Roxy Ally/B-Pro/Eminence. Bataleon Distortia/Violenza, Never Summer Pandora/Infinity.

Hey
The budget is around $300 for just the board. The catch is we are up in Canada so might not get US prices. The Boardroom shop has some of last years stock that is reasonably priced. The Ride Rapture was mentioned, and Boardroom Shop has 2009 examples for $220 which seems like a good deal. I'd love to put them in an Arbor or Neversummer but they are a little harder to come by up here. Thanks all! |

Can you order online? Or will the import fees kill you? I found a guy on ebay selling this year's Arbors cheap. He had the Eden for $225. (Ebay was running a promotion for 20% off, so I got it for $180). If you want, I can send you his info. He had a ton of boards when I talked to him, so he might be able to hook you up.
