Default down to two: bata goliath or NS-SL

so after doing lot of reading ive narrowed it down to these two. hoping to have people who own these board or ridden them both to offer some insight since i keep leaning towards one and change my mind again later so just need that extra nudge to make the buy.

just started boarding this'll be my 2nd year, im a intermediate boarder (blue runs mainly, some blacks at the end of last season). i tried park and i do like it, had some nasty spills on rail so that kinda scares me so prob no rails for me unless there short and flush with the snow lol. but if i do hit park itll be for the small jumps and boxes mainly for this year. my riding will be most likely 80% mountain 20% park.i like to carve, hit groomers, never did powder would like to try but not a main focus, no back country for me yet, natural small kickers, no insane bombing, something playful and easy to learn buttering, switch, easy tricks is what im really looking for. so of these 2 boards which would best suit me for this season?

also im 5'11, 140, 9.5 boots

I ride a NS-SL 151 and would highly recommend the board. Perfect for how you ride. Go buy it and don't look back.

As my sig says, I love my SL-R. You can't go wrong with it.

Just going to throw one in there for Bataleon.

I love the way their boards ride. You should demo one first if you can. They are pretty different. You either love em or hate em.

The NS guys really build a quality board though, and if I wasn't riding Bataleon, I'd be riding a NS.

I love the way my bataleon rides. I am a big fan of triple base.

I think you'd enjoy a 153.

Both are absolutely great boards, and I know since I've owned both, and at the same time too. Honestly you can't go wrong either way.

Can I add, that you should demo both. Even if you buy one first, still demo the other. These boards are both super fun but could not be more different from each other in tech AND feel. After trying both I am guessing you will understand why SBF users have such strong opinions on these models. Not only are they different from each other, but they each are big departures from the rest of the market.

Great choices.

You can contact your local resort to find out when they will be having demo days and your local shops to see what their availability is. Some shops make boards available to demo year round.

Happy riding!
