'05 bindings on '11 board?

I'm pretty set on the slayblade and at $550 it's going to eat all of my budget. I.E. no money left for new bindings.

Is there any problem with using my 2005 Burton P1 ($250) bindings on the 2011 slayblade? They have the same mounting and hardware but I don't know if I'll lose any performance by mix-matching brands and dated technology. I love my Burton boots and P1 bindings. Thoughts?

are you set on this years model slayblade?

i got my brother last years slayblade and he loves it .. that could free up some money for a set of lastyears bindings too
