I think it looks dope... It kind of has a real wood feel to it. You said the model was a 2008 and after you just waxed the board this showed up? If you've owned the board since 2008 my best guess would be that it got scratched or something but that really doesn't add up since the black/white parts of the board. Another possibility is that something was wrong with that color and it came out when you waxed it (Maybe you scraped it to early?). I really have no clue just throwing what i think it might be.

I second the fact that it looks pretty cool....maybe it's meant to look like that, kinda like the burton dominant.

from what I gather, it takes more than just a slightly dry looking base to warrant a grind. The structure either has to be worn flat enough to the point of being ineffective or "burned" to the point of looking super white and hairy. I'm sure there's other reasons, but I'm guessing your base doesn't quite qualify.

Wax it and then take all the wax off. Look at the stickies pertaining to this subject.

Board looks awesome like that btw.

Thanks everyone, I am going to take it to the shop see what they say, hopefully a good wax will do it. I am pretty sure it must have been where I scraped it to hard on the first wax but as I say you can't feel the scratches when you shut your eyes so its not like I scratched it.

What did you scrape it with? Also how hard did you scrape?
