helping friend choose board - Snowboarding Forum

So a friend from work wants to buy a new board this year. He has some experience riding and would like to go more this year. His interests are speed and dabling around in the park. I have never actually rode with him but from what we have talked about i would have to say he would be between a beginner and a intermediate rider. Im guessing he is about 5'9" and 160-170 pounds. He has given me a list of boards that he is interested in and they look to be in the 300-400 range. Also if you can think of any other suggestions that would be great as well. His picks are as follows.

Burton Deuce 152

Forum Seeker 154

Forum Manual 153

DC PBJ LTD 153

DC MLF 152

I would have him look at a K2 Raygun. It's $350 and from everything that I have heard an awesome all around board that can be ridden anywhere.

gnu carbon credit, ride DH, ride kink (a little softer, 4 flex instead of a 6, than the DH but kink is $110 cheaper), Arbor Draft, still a little softer. more comparable to the kink

thankyou. Which of these would be the best if we say hes riding 75% groomers 25% park? Or are they all pretty comparable?

for more groomers than park go with the ride dh, gnu carbon credit (DH will be about $460 carbon credit $399, DH is cambered and carbon credit has banana rocker, also i would definitely check out the ride machete($429)! idk how i forgot it

it is the same flex as the DH but has a rocker design, the lowrize, and is 30 bucks cheaper! it is about a 6 flex the same as the DH and gnu cc also. but for 30 bucks more for the machete rather than the gnu cc you will get a faster sintered base)

for more park than groomers go with the ride kink($349), arbor draft($399)

k2 raygun if about 50-50
