so my board has a black base, and sometimes after waxing my board and then riding a few days, my base near the edges sometimes will be a noticeably lighter (grayer) then the rest of my base. I assume this means that the board needs more wax in that particular area, but i figure i would ask to see if i could get any definate answers.

Your wax might be shit, your waxing method might also be shit.
Read up on the sticky thread about waxing and you should get all you need out of those. You want your base to get a little warm when you're waxing so that the pores of the base open up and let the wax seep in. I've had three full days of riding on my Capita and have yet to see a sign of wear on the base. I waxed that puppy three times before I even used it so I'd build a solid wax base. You could also wax the sides of your base with cold wax while you leave the center with all temp wax. But that's just trouble for nothing IMO. Last edited by fredericp64; 12-09-2010 at 12:36 AM. |
