Default need a soft flex

I just started snowboarding last year and this year I am trying butters and jumps. I don't know if I should get a salomon sanchez or the rome artifact rocker.
What board would you guys or gals recommend?
What size?
I am 5'8 and 200 pounds 33 years old.

THANKS

I wanted to go smaller like a 153 or lower just because I thought it might be easier to learn how to do 180's and stuff. Or would I break the board...LOL

Buying a soft flexing board and then going over the weight recomendations isn't a combo likely to come out good. That would be a very jib specific ride. Bad for anything else including jumps. You're right at the top range of the 156 Artifact's weight range.

You think I could get away with the 156? What would be wrong with going with like the 151 or 153? What would be bad with going shorter with my weight?

Sorry for the dumb questions..

The issue would be that the already soft board would flex like a noodle under your weight. The bigger the board, the stiffer it tends to be. So going to a 156 will give you a better compromise in terms of flex and ridability.

I got ya.

I might go a little shorter then. I am only going to use it for buttering around and small jumps.
