Default honestly, Bataleon?

My Evil Twin does not hold wax at all. I waxed it just last night using the usual bluebird all-temp wax that I always use and no more than 5 runs into today, the edges were white and dry. It was a good day with about 4-6 inches of powder so I decided to switch to my old '08 TRS. Rode it all day and the base just dried out a little right on teh edges.

Anybody have similar problems with Bataleon boards?

Does the evil twin have an extruded or sintered base?

Sometimes wax absorption and speed are sacrificed for durability.

Hot wax in from the edges about 3" with the coldest wax you can buy, then wax the remainder of your board with the correct temp wax.

those synthduded bases are 2555 hard and the sintered are 3000 hard...that's only a very minimal difference, but my riot takes several days before any noticeable dryness

It's a pretty common thing that Bataleons don't hold wax, and they're a bitch to scrape compared to a normal shaped stick

I finally got to the point with my ex's that I would just wax a few inches around the edge regularly and the rest would hold wax

agreed, bataleons aren't quite as easy to scrape as a flat base, but, from my experience, their sintered bases hold wax as long as most other brands

Says the person with a Bataleon logo as their signature haha

Bataleons are notorious for not holding wax, you're not fooling anyone

I don't give a shit how "notorious" they supposedly are - I'm just telling my experience.

Maybe these complainers don't know how to wax...maybe they just scraped off their storage layer and the wax was already somewhat oxidized...or some other problem.

I know I've owned several other snowboards, all sintered bases, and my bataleons are similar
