Default The Best of the Worst...Need Help Deciding

I have a little bro who wants to start boarding. And, I'm looking to get a beater for him to try out and see how he likes it. I made the mistake of getting a Burton Royale as my first. Not to say it wasn't a good board, just that I beat it up learning, before really getting a chance to enjoy it. I don't want to make the same mistake again.

He's 6'2" 160lbs. I figured a 159-160 should be a good size, and I found a couple of sub $100 dollar boards to start. Trouble is, I don't know anything about any of these brands. I can't even find an official website for two of them. I'm looking for a little direction, and verification. Here's what I've found,

1) Fresh Olivia -Can't Find Company Site
2) Ambient Tweety -Can't Find Company Site
3) Lamar Slayer
3) LTD Sentry
4) LTD Quest

Please note, I don't plan to buy from the sites linked above, just that it was the only vender that had all boards in question. I'd be paying in the range of $98 to $110. I'm looking for the best value here, to get the most out of the investment...the best of the worst, listed above.

Also, had these in the back of my mind, although they cost alot more then the ones above:

-StepChild Terry Kidwell Edition -$225
-StepChild Hammerhead -$215
-StepChild Kool Trick Stick -$150

-StepChild Corporate -$200 *162.5cm

I know there's alot here, but I'm lost and don't know which direction to go in....
Your insight would be helpful. Thanks.

+1 for eBay

Or maybe a used board from a buddy. As for the above boards, there's probably little differences between them, just low-budget sticks.
