How wide is to wide?

I just got my first setup which consists of Burton Deuce 162w, Cartel bindings and Celsius boots. I am 6' about 215 lbs with size 13 boots. I know that wider boards are harder to turn but my feet were hanging off everything I looked at. Even the Deuce with a 267mm waist width they have a little overhang but acceptable. Am I sorta behind the eight ball trying to learn on that wide of a board?

I'm the same height maybe a little taller size 12 boots and I have a Skate Banana 156W and it works perfect. I really like wide boards better, they work better in a lot of instances.

I think it's good to have just a little overhang cause it's faster edge to edge. I'm a size 13 also and my waist width is 262mm. Your 267 is fine also. I think for size 13 anywhere from 260-268 or so is fine, but it's not based just on the waist width as that's usually the width at the center of the board and not where your boots are so it varies by board. Your not at any disadvantage for having a wide board because the right width is based on your shoe size. Your better off having that board than a regular one where you would have toe drag.
