damage from landing dead on the tail won't likely be covered by warranty becuase it was your fault. It can happen to any board, but some may be able to handle a few more hits depending on build quality, no guarantees though.
Simple answer, any board you don't front flip wont have that happen. Front flips are generally a parlor trick, if you just find them fun as all hell to do then just don't throw them on anything too small to get all the way around and tuck that back leg.
My Lib Tech board has no steel edge around the nose and tail so they're not going to have these problems. But I'm sure they can damage at the nose and tail too, but don't think it's going to happen as fast because is just a solid piece of material...
Sucks btw. I'd try to use warranty or customer service!
You lib tech will have way more nose and tail issues then any other board on the market. Not having a fully wrapped stick is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.... Wait till you accidentally run into something and the board splits in half, or someone bumps your board from behind in the lift line and splits it in half also. It will happen.
There are no boards more vulnerable to tip and tail damage then non fully wrapped ones as far as I know.
They do, I can't remember it's name either though.... I've got a few friends who tried to bust it in the shop and it just kept tossing them across the room onto their asses.
k2 fastplant has a bamboo core warranteed for 5 yrs. and most there other boards have carbon fiber torsion forks in the tip/tail. id get some of the plastic edge cap/protectors you see on rental boards, and put em on till you get flips down.
I'm just gonna go the DIY way. I flip in my backyard so it doesn't have to look nice.
The best I have in mind right now is to put an inch of masking tape to dispense the shock.
Any other ideas?
