Tomorrow my Never Summer evo-r 153cm comes in. currently im riding an 08-09 Burton custom 156cm . i was wondering what should i expect when i take it out this saturday. i picked it up on ebay for $366 shipped after reading the specs haven't changed from last year to this year. not sure if its gonna matter or not but i am riding 08-09 burton mission bindings as i am saving up for coilovers and a front mount intercooler for my Volkswagen gti haha
also imwas wondering what is the factory wax like on the evo-r i dont have that much wax left. i ordered some and it should come in sometime next week. should i be able to go 2-3 days on the factory wax? |

if u read the maintenance section ppl will tell u that u should put ur own wax on it. hertel or bluebird are the two winners
personally i made the mistake of taking the EVO on factory wax (which is oneballjay) and i'll never do it again for any of my new boards |

after i loaded it w/ hertel's hot sauce the board became blazing fast and wet. it is like night and day difference. just the thought of knowing i was gliding on my EVO base when it was 'unprotected' bugs me

Factory wax is basically just a storage wax. It's just thrown on there to keep the base from drying out during shipping and while the board is sitting around the shop.
grafta, are you sure you're getting enough wax in the base? For the first wax, I always go super heavy on the wax. Sure, it leads to more waste, but for that initial wax I really try to load it up. You're not gonna hurt your board riding it on the factory wax. |

got the board today and did some carpet surfing and it really surprised me how flexy this board is. a lot softer than my friends joystick and not even comparable to my custom. overall deff worth the $366 i paid for the board brand spanking new
i ended up using the last of my dakine all temp shop wax, hopefully it doesn't get too icy tonight so i can go boarding tmr |
