Tuning a board with MTX - Snowboarding Forum

I recently bought a Lib Tech Skate Banana. It comes with magnetraction, so the edges are like little waves to grant more contact points. Before I go onto cleaning and sharpening my edges I don't want to screw up. Is tuning a board with MTX the same as any other board? Are there any special techniques I should know?

They sell a special edge tuning tool for magnetraction boards. I have not used it, so I cant say if its different or not.

I used a regular sharpening tool on my riders choice BTX, worked fine.

I'll probably just do the same and see how it all plays out. I only put about 12-15 days on it so my edges are still fairly sharp.

The magnetraction tool is just a short edge tool. Will give you either 90* or 88* angles. I have one as I had a T.Rice and my wife rides a B-Pro. Can be used on any moard but it is shorter so that it works better/won't hurt the magnetraction section of magnetraction boards. For $15 or whatever they cost I figured it was worth it to protect my investment.
